This study examines the strategies of Islamic Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) teachers in classroom management to foster students’ learning interest and identifies the challenges encountered in the process. The research was motivated by the need to create a conducive learning environment amid limited instructional time and diverse student characteristics in Islamic Education learning. This study employed a qualitative field research approach conducted at SDN 204 Pinrang. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI teachers implement various classroom management strategies, including structured lesson planning, classroom agreements, varied teaching methods, the use of instructional media, and positive reinforcement to enhance student engagement and learning interest. However, teachers face challenges such as differences in students’ abilities, attention levels, and limited learning media. These challenges are addressed through flexible teaching approaches, ice-breaking activities, and creative use of available resources. Overall, effective classroom management strategies play a crucial role in creating a conducive learning atmosphere and fostering students’ interest in learning Islamic Education.
