KONSEPTUALISASI PROPHETIC FATHERSHIP DALAM MEMBANGUN KELUARGA HARMONI DI ERA MODERN

Abstract

The phenomenon of fatherless the absence of a father figure physically or psychologically within the family has placed Indonesia in an alarming position. This condition contributes significantly to the rising divorce rates and the decline in the quality of children's moral education. This study aims to offer a conceptual solution through a theological-historical approach utilizing the Prophetic Fathership framework to build a harmonious family in the modern era. This research is a library research utilizing a descriptive-qualitative approach. Primary data sources were obtained from the Al-Qur'an and Hadith, as well as supporting literature relevant to family psychology and Islamic education, covering literature published within the last decade (2014–2024). The results indicate that: (1) The concept of prophetic fathership defined as an Islamic parenting and leadership model rooted in the prophetic traditions (prophetic model) that integrates spiritual, psychological, and moral dimensions mirrors the interaction patterns of the prophets in the Al-Qur'an, positioning fathers not merely as breadwinners, but as primary educators, role models (uswah hasanah), and emotional guides. (2) The implementation of this exemplary behavior can be carried out through strategic steps such as active involvement in parenting (paternal engagement), effective dialogic communication, the allocation of quality time, and the avoidance of verbal and psychological violence. Novelty and Contribution: Unlike conventional Western paternal engagement theories that focus primarily on secular developmental psychology, Prophetic Fathership introduces a novel theological-psychological framework that bridges divine moral standards (uswah hasanah) with modern attachment and psychosocial theories. Practical Implications: This framework provides an actionable blueprint for policymakers, religious counselors, and family welfare institutions to design evidence-based parenting interventions across diverse socio-economic strata
