Abstract

The theological-normative approach is fundamental in Islamic education, grounding the process of instilling faith and moral values in the Qur’an and Hadith. In the era of globalization and digitalization, however, its implementation faces challenges in ensuring that these values are internalized beyond the cognitive level. This study analyzes the concepts and practical application of the theological-normative approach in fostering students’ faith and morals. Employing qualitative library research, data were collected from relevant literature and analyzed descriptively and analytically. The findings demonstrate that this approach effectively shapes students’ religious character through scriptural learning, worship habituation, moral development, and educator role modeling. The study’s novelty lies in highlighting the need to adapt the theological-normative approach with contextual and reflective methods to prevent dogmatism and maintain relevance. Theoretically, this research reinforces the role of scriptural foundations in value education; practically, it suggests adaptive strategies for integrating faith and morals in contemporary educational settings.
